KESHI DROPS YOBO, AS EAGLES FALL TO 2 FORMATION

SUPER Eagles Head Coach, Stephen Keshi announced on Friday morning that national team skipper, Joseph Yobo, has officially been ruled out of Jumbo June qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup and 2013 Nations Cup by his club medics at Fernabahce, Turkey.
Fernabahce's medical team confirmed to Keshi that the player will be out for over a month, which effectively rules him out of next month’s qualifiers .
Keshi declared that he felt pains missing his captain but added that there was no cause for alarm.
He went ahead to list the replacements thus: “Gege Soriola, was splendid for Free State Stars in the South African league, Geofrey Oboabona, plays that role regularly for Sunshine Stars, but we use him here as a full back and he can easily revert to that, then we have Kano Pillars’ Papa Idris, who has been in excellent form for club and country, so we must not fret, we have the players to hold down the position until Yobo returns”, he said.
Meanwhile, SUPER Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has revealed that he would be working on two tactical formations, 4-4-2 and 4-4-3 which he said he would adopt depending on the situation during matches.
The former Anderlecht of Belgium libero stated that his major formation will be 4-4-2 which is an attacking formation, adding that he would shift to plan B, 4-4-3 for a defensive pattern.
Meanwwhile, the Nigerian side will train in Abuja for a World Cup qualifier in Malawi next month because of the artificial pitch they will play on in Blantyre.
Officials informed MTNFootball.com that after a June 3 World Cup qualifier in Calabar against Namibia, the Super Eagles will fly in to Abuja to train on the synthetic pitch at the FIFA Goal Project because they will play in Malawi on June 6 on an artificial turf.
