THE SMALLEST, BIGGEST GIFT YOU CAN GIVE

Some people think they have absolutely nothing to give in other to show their good intention well, I have news for you. There is something you possess with the ability to give out freely without running into any diminishing risk, it seem small but it’s quite big, most importantly, it cost you nothing. That one thing is a smile.

Let me share a story about the power of a simple smile.

A young woman smiled at a sorrowful stranger, the smile seems to make him feel better, and he remembered the past kindness of a friend and wrote him a thank you letter. The friend was so pleased with the letter that he left a large tip after lunch. The waitress, surprised by the size of the tip, bet the whole thing on a hunch. The next day, she picked up her winnings and gave part of it to a man on the street. The man on the street was grateful; he ate for the two days he had nothing to eat. After he finished the dinner, he left for his small dingy room. He didn’t know at the moment that he might be facing his doom; on his way he picked up a shivering puppy and took him home to get warm. The puppy was very grateful to be out of the cold storm. That night, the house caught on fire. The puppy barked the alarm; he barked till he woke the whole household and saved everybody from hurt. One of the boys he rescued grew up to be president. All this happened, because of a simple smile that hadn’t cost a kobo.

Researchers say that smile radiates a lasting effect on the recipient, but even more on the giver. Scientist has even proven that smiling has the ability to lengthen the life expectation of an individual. So you see, not only are they free to give, but it pays you the giver as well.

That’s another way of proving that in giving, we receive.
