Olamide Adedeji AKA OLAMIDE


Olamide Adedeji (born March 15, 1989), popularly known by his stage name Olamide, is a Nigerian Hip hop recording artist from Bariga, Lagos State. He is considered a great rap artist by many and he records mostly in Yoruba, his native tongue. He is a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State, but was born into a family of seven and bred in Bariga, Lagos. He is currently a student of Tai Solarin University studying Mass Communication. Olamide grew up in what can be described as one of Lagos' ghettos. He discovered music while still growing up, and in 2003 he started writing his own lines and performing at shows and the rest today is history.
In 2011, he released his debut studio album Rapsodi while signed to Coded Tunes. YBNL, his follow-up album, was released under YBNL Nation, his label imprint. The album was supported by the singles "First of All", "Voice of the Street", "Stupid Love", and "Ilefo Illuminati". On November 7, 2013, he released his third studio album Baddest Guy Ever Liveth. The album's singles include "Durosoke" and "Yemi My Lover" among others. On July 17, 2013, Olamide became the first Nigerian to sign an endorsement deal with Cîroc. Olamide has won several music awards, including multiple Nigeria Entertainment Awards, The Headies, and Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA), to name a few.
