OLANRENWAJU FASASI (AKA. Sound Sultan)

Olanrenwaju Fasasi who is popularly known as Sound Sultan was born on the 27th of November, 1976 in Jos, Plateau state. He is a rapper, singer, songewriter, actor, comedian and recording artist. Sound Sultan is recongnised as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.
He is the fourth of six children and was influenced into music by his elder brother, Baba Dee (who is also a musician). Sound Sultan is one Nigerian artist who knew exactly what he wanted for himself and pursued it. He started hosting shows to raise money for studio sessions in the early 90's and learnt how to play the guitar immediately after his secondary school. It is believed that one of the many shows he emceed discovered P-square and Mr. Raw Nwanne.
By the year 1999; he had won numerous local talent hunt shows and by the year 2000 he released his first single 'Jagbajantis' which was a big hit.
This UN ambassador for peace is a devoted muslim and holds a degree in geography and regional planning from the Lagos state university, a degree he has never used to this day. It is said that Sound Sultan has never applied for a job since after graduating.
He got married to his long term sweet heart Chichi Morah in 2009; an igbo christian who coverted to Islam after marriage and adopted the name Farida. They have two children together.
He says his biggest challenge earlier in hi career was finance and the struggles to make people believe in him and appreciate his music.
